Lusaka, Zambia | January 2026 – The organisers of the Farmers Choice Awards (FCA) have announced the shortlisted nominees for the 2026 edition, ahead of the upcoming voting period that will determine Africa’s top agricultural service providers.
The FCA Expo and Summit Africa, organised by Lumbani Chilenga Investments Limited, is a Pan-African platform dedicated to recognising and celebrating excellence across the agricultural value chain. This year’s nomination process recorded 312 direct entries and 816 farmer-driven nominations, alongside recommendations from the FCA Organising Committee, highlighting the credibility and continental reach of the awards.
Speaking on the announcement, Gideon Lumbani Chilenga, CEO of Lumbani Chilenga Investments Limited, said,
"The Farmers Choice Awards are Africa’s only truly farmer-led recognition platform. Being shortlisted is more than an award—it’s a direct endorsement from farmers who trust and work with these companies and professionals."
The nominees represent excellence across sectors such as agro-processing, inputs, equipment, finance, renewable energy, animal health services, and agritech, spanning Southern, West, East, Central, and North Africa. The awards aim to recognise companies, professionals, and institutions that drive innovation, strengthen food systems, and support farmers across the continent.
Official voting for the final winners opens on 10 January 2026 and closes on 20 February 2026, giving farmers across Africa the opportunity to select the service providers and industry leaders they trust.
Lumbani Chilenga Investments Limited, the organisers of FCA, also run the Agricoop Awards and publish the Agricoop Newspaper Africa, providing a comprehensive platform to promote agricultural excellence and innovations across the continent.
The full list of 2026 FCA shortlisted nominees has been released, offering recognition to Africa’s top agribusinesses and service providers.
