
Forest Africa boosts Zambia’s Agro-Processing

FOR generations, Zambia’s indigenous fruits have remained largely untapped treasures, harvested seasonally by rural communities but often generating limited economic returns. However, Forest Africa Zambia Limited is proving that these natural resources can become powerful drivers of rural transformation, industrial growth and sustainable business development through value addition.
The company is transforming Zambia’s agricultural value chain by demonstrating that agro-processing is one of the most effective ways to increase rural incomes while creating sustainableenterprises.
Forest Africa Zambia Limited Managing Director, Frazer Handondo, said that rather than allowing valuable indigenous fruits to go to waste or exporting raw materials with minimal returns, Forest Africa is processing them into premium beverages, jams, seed oils and other innovative products that command significantly higher market value.
